PLEDGE

I hereby accept this Rank given to me by the Legend and will continue to earn the trust placed on me by my sensei's.

Although I may not feel qualified or deserving of this honor, I will work hard to grow into the position and responsibility placed on me today.

As a member of the Legend, I am also a member of a world family of all martial artists and therefore bear the weight of my actions in the dojo as well as in the streets.

I will carry myself with dignity and show respect to all my fellow men and women in or out of the dojo.

I represent all that is the trainings of my sensei's and the Legend in the manner of my conduct and therefore will never abuse the privilege of the "Way of the Warrior".

I understand that I am a reflection of my training and my teachers, and must continue to polish my mirror so that its image is clear and pure.

I will never show disrespect to the elderly even when they may be wrong.

I will never hit or abuse a woman or child even if they are out of control.

I will defuse the situation with love, and understanding that they hurt, and I maybe the cause of their pain

I will never make fun of another's race religion, color, creed or beliefs for I am not above criticism myself, nor am I perfect but I will strive to become better as a martial artist and a human.

I will try to resolve conflict non violently knowing I learn to fight so I don't have to fight unless there is no other way to save my life or loved one or in defense of my country.

I pledge all this as I stand before you with my heart in my hand, my shield down, my weapons sheathed.

I am on my journey to becoming the best person I know how to be and thank you for your dedication and help as my martial arts brothers and sisters.

I follow the creed that Ego is the wind that blows out the lamp of knowledge and to never mistake kindness for weakness.
